TRS party has decided to abstain from voting in tomorrow’s Presidential election. Party sources informed this to the media today.
The party would not like to support UPA-backed Pranab Mukherjee’s candidature due to the indifferent attitude of the Congress-led UPA Government towards the separate Telangana demand.
Several Telangana activists and outfits have been asking TRS to abstain from this election or vote for Sangma. After several deliberations, TRS has decided to stay away from the election
TRS, which has two Lok Sabha members and 17 MLAs in Andhra Pradesh Assembly, did not vote in the 2007 Presidential election, too.
