The BJP will oppose the Rayala Telangana move in Parliament, BJP state president G Kishan Reddy has said.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, he said the party is for Telangana with 10 districts and Hyderabad as capital and anything other than this would not be supported by the party.
No one has asked for Rayala Telangana. Still, the Congress is going for it for selfish gain, he alleged. “People of Telangana want Telangana state with 10 district and not Rayala Telangana. People will never accept this proposal and teach the Congress lesson in the coming elections,” he said.
The BJP will see that the Rayala Telangana proposal is rejected in Parliament, he said, and added that the party will take up an agitation against the ‘betrayal politics’ of the Congress.
The Congress is playing games to prevent the Telangana bill from reaching Parliament, he alleged.
He said the party will observe Telangana bandh on Thursday, protesting against the Rayala Telangana proposal. Party workers will organise rallies and demonstrations, he said.
Weird Idea: Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdhury on Wednesday said she opposes creation of Rayala Telangana state.
In a statement here, she said that RT is against the aspirations of the people of Telangana. “The proposal which has suddenly come to the centre stage from nowhere is making people worried,” she said.
