The Telangana State government’s first cultural tableau is all set for a grand presentation at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi.
A 25-member band of artistes, trained to present the famed Bonalu festival tableau, will present a full-fledged dress rehearsal at Rajpath in New Delhi on January 23. Potharajus dancing to the teen maar tune will be one of the star attractions at the RD parade. Bonalu is now the state festival of Telangana and the theme was chosen by the state government, which was finally approved by Union Defence Ministry after rejecting it twice.
“The Telangana cultural tableau will be in the ninth position in the 25-tableaux pageant. The full dress rehearsal will be on January 23,” informed V. Subhash, Coordinating officer, Republic Day celebrations, Telangana State.
He added, “It’s a proud privilege for people of Telangana to showcase their culture before the representatives of 119 countries and US President Barack Obama.
