Merger of TSRTC into government complete; governor assents bill

The merger of TSRTC and its 43,373 employees into the state government has been completed with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan clearing the bill on Thursday. The Governor took one month time to clear the bill and sought clarifications from the state government before clearing the bill. After clearing the bill, she congratulated TSRTC employees.

Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar, Finance Minister T Harish Rao and others congratulated the employees and wished them the best. It was a revolutionary decision taken by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao keeping in view the welfare of the employees and financially weak corporation.

Telangana Mazdoor Union president AR Reddy thanking the chief minister Mr KCR has said he fulfilled the dream of RTC workers and they will always be grateful to him. They would stand by CM KCR in all his future endeavours. TMU working president N Kamalakar Goud described the decision of CM KCR as a daring and very bold decision. It shows the KCR’s commitment towards the welfare of RTC workers. He also thanked Governor Tamilisai for her gesture.
TMU chief advisor B Yadaiah thanked both chief minister and governor for their kindness towards the RTC workers.

Thomas Reddy, TMU general secretary, said the RTC workers will be forever indebted to CM KCR. He saved the loss-making RTC and came to the rescue of the hapless workers of the corporation. The state government has made budgetary allocations of Rs. 500 crore, Rs. 1,500 crore and again Rs. 500 crore to the RTC to save the corporation and its workers.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, buses did not ply and the corporation made huge losses. At that time, it was Mr KCR who came to the rescue of the corporation and workers would never forget his gesture. TSRTC chairman Bajireddy Govardhan has thanked the CM KCR and said the long pending dream of RTC workers is realised with his decision.
