Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police issue warning ahead of Ram Mandir inauguration in Ayodhya

In view of the scheduled consecration of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have issued a cautionary advisory to the public, alerting them of the potential threat posed by malicious links circulating online.

Specifically, the police are urging the public to be vigilant and, in particular, to educate senior citizens who may be more vulnerable to cyber threats. The advisory emphasizes the need to exercise caution and avoid opening any links claiming to contain ‘live photos of Ayodhya.’

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the cyber crime police highlighted the potential risk associated with such links. The advisory reads, “On 22nd January 2024 and thereafter, there is a likelihood of receiving a link message on several mobile devices containing content such as ‘Live photos of Ayodhya’ or similar types. It is imperative that you do not open such links, as doing so may result in your mobile phone being hacked, and your bank accounts being robbed.”

The caution comes as a proactive measure to protect the public from falling victim to cyber threats during a period of heightened online activity surrounding the significant event of the Ram Temple consecration. The Cyber Crime Police underscore the importance of staying vigilant and taking necessary precautions to ensure the security of personal information and digital assets.
