Residents of the border districts in North Telangana are gripped with fear of elephants. There are concerns that a sizable herd of 60-70 elephants, currently traversing Maharashtra, might venture into Telangana.
Recently, two farmers died in a recent elephant attack and now forest officials are issuing stern warnings about a looming threat from the elephant herd. Officials are closely monitoring the situation, estimating that the elephants, currently in the forests of Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra, could potentially enter the Kagaznagar forest division of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district in Telangana.
