Bathukamma celebrated in Boston

Telangana NRI Association (TeNA) Boston Chapter celebrated its 6th Bathukamma festival on Oct 13, 2012, Saturday in Acton, Massachusetts.

Telanganites from all over Boston and neighbouring towns gathered at the venue to celebrate the beautiful festival. More than 300 guests attended the event with great energy and enthusiasm. Venu Madadi on behalf of the Boston bathukamma team extended a warm welcome to the guests and kicked off the event. Colorful bathukammas were arranged and brought in by enthustiastic fellow telanganaites to celebrate the event. The freezing temperatures outdoors did not play a deterrent to any of the attendees and everybody was seen braving the cold happily clapping and dancing to the bathukamma tunes. The bathukamma play was followed by interesting cultural programs indoors. People were seen clapping and tapping to kids’ dances and telangana song renditions by adults. Dinner that was later served to the guests comprised of delicious telangana specials. Though all food items were equally mouth-watering, Sarvapindi needs a special mention as guests could not get enough of it!

We would like to thank one and all for taking time to attend the bathukamma festival and making it a great success.
