Two Major Industries Extend Support to Telangana: IT Minister KT Rama Rao

On his Mumbai tour to attract investments into the state, IT minister KT Rama Rao on Monday got assurances from two major industrial groups to invest in various sectors in Telangana.

While the Reliance Group categorically said they have plans to partner with the Telangana state government, Tata Group had extended its support to the state government’s prestigious double bedroom house scheme and also other schemes. KTR was in Mumbai on Monday where he met Reliance Group chairman Mukesh Ambani and also Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry.

During his meeting with Mukesh Ambani, KTR explained about the various opportunities for industrial development in the Telangana State. The minister explained about Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhagiratha, double bedroom houses and initiatives taken in power sector to Mukesh Ambani.  “We are taking up every scheme with a deadline. We even announced that we won’t go for 2019 elections, if we fail to execute the Mission Bhagiratha project,” KTR told Mukesh Ambani.  Mukesh Ambani was all praises for the Telangana government.

“Telangana government is going ahead with a vision and it is visible in its work,” Mukesh Ambani said adding, “Vision without execution is an illusion.”  Stating that they have plans to partner with the Telangana government, Mukesh Ambani assured that they would soon partner with the government in a big way in various sectors.

Earlier in the day, KTR met Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry. The Tata Group had already evinced interest in investing in Defence and Aerospace sector in Hyderabad.  KTR told Cyrus Mistry that Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has already made it a point that Tatas are the brand ambassadors of Telangana.  KTR discussed with Cyrus Mistry about the Tata Group’s investment in IT and industrial sector apart from housing sector.

“The Tata Group has agreed to partner with the state government in the prestigious double bedroom house scheme,” an official release said. The Tata Group’s Tata Housing Project will partnet with the government in the double bedroom housing scheme.

Cyrus Mistry told the IT minister that they will also set up TATA-AIG Technology Development Centre in the state and also extend their cooperation to the T Hub Innovation Fund through Tata Capital.
