Telangana IT body backs TRS

The Telangana IT association (TITA), a registered organisation with about 3,000 IT employees, has appealed to techies in the region to vote for the TRS in the upcoming elections.

Governing body

TITA members said they had decided to support TRS because it was the only party which included some of their recommendations in its manifesto. These included setting up of a separate governing body for IT industry.

The association will also campaign for some Parliament candidates of the TRS soon.

“After holding elaborate discussions with various employees, we prepared a list of 16 grievances affecting the IT employees, young IT aspirants and also the industry owners. Even though the industry generates significant amount of revenue for the State, nobody is bothered about our condition. Hence, we approached almost every political party and requested them to include important points in their manifestos. Since TRS listened to us and we will support them,” TITA founder and president Mukthala Sandeep Kumar told reporters at a press conference here on Thursday.

TRS poll promise

The TRS’ promise of having a separate IT governing body will help employees fight for their rights, and also check for fraudulent companies. The members are also hopeful that the body will train youngsters in soft skills and other courses to help them land jobs.
