Pawan Kalyan Syndrome & Social Reflection

By: Krishna Saagar Rao

Pawan Kalyan’s party launch & the speech he has delivered in the five star auditorium with select young gullible movie fans of his screen persona, is nothing more than a stand up comedy show, with admission free.

There’s neither any real emotion nor any real content in his intermittently fiery, taunting , defending & grossly misconceptualised speech to the audience, whom he does not even know.

I clearly see, neither he planned his target audience nor a purpose; it’s purely a maverick who got disillusioned by his own screen persona, imagining it to be true in real life, trying to pitch hard. Pitch himself as the saviour of ‘god knows who? & only god knows what?’ as he did not even clarify that in his speech.

The paid regionally biased media building up the event for over 48 hours has surely created an expectation of sorts, which might have led to increased TRP’s however, it also led to exposure of a confused man, who has no idea of what he wants to do & what people might want from him.

If it was only the light hearted banter, which he wished to indulge in, he could have done that by buying some cheap media space in the afternoon on any leading local channel, he would have saved a lot of money. As neither his real time persona nor the content of his speech has inspired none who matter.

Nevertheless, as an analyst the entire episode for me was a reflection of our society & its numerous components, it was a reflection of the state of our media, the state of our youth, the state of our standards, the state of our societal quality and over all tolerance levels on thrusted leadership.

Pawan Kalyan could be a visual metaphor for how distraught the current level of ‘Social thought’ is today. How methodically a substandard media is lowering the stature of educated & logical minds.

There are million well thinking & well conceiving people in the state and even few in the audience; however they do not get any attention, but someone who has no worth of a structured thought or expression gets this kind of lopsided, undeserving attention by the mainstream media. It’s not easy for a normal Joe to spend few crores for media attention and feed 3000 captive audience to listen to a two hour pointless crap. So, the majority become victims of ‘media hijack’ getting an unwarranted hammering of a substandard, low quality, redundant, pointless crap.

The funniest part of the entire episode is the ‘post speech analysis’ by selectively searching & cherry picking unrelated points he had mouthed and give them a valid & logical shape by low quality, almost uneducated, unprofessional, value ridden news anchors who are no better the man they are analysing. What a pity. The entire audience is stuck badly between devil & the deep sea, as there’s nowhere to run. I can understand the feeling, as I went through the same as I watched a large portion of the speech.

To analyze anything more on his speech or the content of the speech will be an insult to my formal education, core values & common sense which I value, protect & nurture.

One thing is for sure, looking at intermittent cheer from the visibly under 18 aged youth in the auditorium, if this is the standard of our youth from any section of the society, we should not only be ashamed of our quality & lower standards, But we should also fret that India has no great advantage of being a nation full of youngsters, as this kind of youth of a nation becomes a liability than an asset.

Jai Hind.
