Nasscom Startup Warehouse Inaugurated at T-Hub in Hyderabad

A ‘startup warehouse’ was inaugurated at the startup incubator, T-Hub, at Gachibowli here on Monday.

The warehouse, conceived as part of Nasscom’s 10K Startup Programme and set up in partnership with the state government, will mentor startup companies to be handpicked by leaders of the IT industry.

A startup warehouse is an incubator and co-working space for technology startups and early-stage product companies at a reasonable cost. The co-working space allows early-stage technology startups to work for six to 12 months during which it will facilitate demos and pitches by startups to investors and large corporates among others.

Speaking at the inauguration, BVR Mohan Reddy, chairman of the National Association of Software Services Companies (Nasscom), said, “Hyderabad is the one of the hubs of Indian technology. The city is known to be home to many technology startups. The startup warehouse, set up in partnership with the government of Telangana, will further provide an affordable co-working space to the young entrepreneurs, taking care of their concerns of building right product in the market and giving them a platform to emerge as stronger players.”

The ‘10,000 Startups Programme’ has initiated startup warehouses across different states to create a micro-ecosystem where many start-ups and entrepreneurs can work together and share their experiences with each other. The country’s first startup warehouse came up in Bangalore in 2013 and later in Kolkata, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Kochi, and Gurgaon. Nasscom is planning to launch such warehouses in other emerging cities in partnership with their respective state governments.

“The Hyderabad startup ecosystem has grown extensively in the last one year. We want to back this culture and support these young minds to foster and create tomorrow’s global brands. The new warehouse will be a part of T-hub incubator which will provide the best facilities to entrepreneurs and startup founders. Nasscom is happy to set up yet another start-up hub and thanks the Telangana government for its constant support and assistance,” Nasscom president R.Chandrashekhar said.

The ‘10K Startups’ is an ambitious programme aimed at scaling up the startup ecosystem in India by ten-fold in the next 10 years. The programme is supported by Google, Microsoft, IBM, AWS and Kotak.
