KTR promises Rs. 15,000 cr. for development of roads

Panchayat Raj and Information Technology Minister K.T. Rama Rao has said that roads will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 15,000 crore in the State.

Participating in various development programmes worth Rs. 45.87 crore at Gajwel Assembly constituency on Saturday, Mr. Rama Rao said that the government was taking up various such programmes across the State.

An increase in the number of pensions from 29 lakh to 37 lakh is an indication in this direction, he said, adding that the amount being spent on this scheme had increased from Rs. 800 crore to Rs. 4,000 crore.

Referring to the farm loan waiver, Mr. Rama Rao said that this was taken up to relieve farmers and so far, Rs. 8,400 crore had been released in a phased manner.

Promising that Gajwel Assembly constituency would be developed as the topmost in the State, the Panchayat Raj Minister said that the face of the constituency would change for the better in the next four years. He also explained about Mission Kakatiya, Harita Haram and sanctioning of a forest college for the constituency.
