KCR invites Maharashtra CM Fadnavis for Kaleshwaram project inauguration

Strengthening relations with neighboring States, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday personally called on Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to invite them for the inaugural ceremony of the prestigious Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) on June 21.

Briefing Fadnavis on the status of the mega Kaleshwaram project, CM KCR said the project was on the verge of completion in the shortest possible time with the help and cooperation of the Maharashtra government. He thanked Fadnavis for his active cooperation and help in resolving inter-State issues related to the project.

“I would like to extend my personal invitation to you to be the Chief Guest at the inaugural function, which will be very appropriate as a symbol of active inter-State cooperation,” the Chief Minister said.

The project will be inaugurated at 10.30 am at Medigadda village in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on June 21. The Chief Minister informed Fadnavis that there was ample water in Godavari River to cater to the needs of the people in both the States and they could make optimum utilization of the water through inter-State cooperation. He invited the Maharashtra Chief Minister and his team to visit the project to witness the ongoing works.

Earlier, CM KCR also met Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao and invited him to the inauguration program.
