Kavitha bats for Telangana writers

Member of Parliament from Nizamabad Kalvakuntla Kavitha has come out in support of Telangana writers and their literary works and tweeted to the Indian Diplomacy twitter account requesting it to consider including the literary works of Telangana writers.

Responding to a post on Indian Diplomacy — the official twitter account of India’s Public Diplomacy, Ministry of External Affairs, Ms. Kavitha wanted it to include Jnanpeeth award winning “Vishwambara” by C. Narayan Reddy, “Prajala Manishi” by Vattikota Alwar Swamy and “Timiram Tho Samaram” by Dasharathi as prominent Telugu works.

The account Indian Diplomacy included only three literary works in its tweet while describing the Telugu language and the famous works in it. These three include “Rajasekhara Charitamu” by Kandukuri Veeresalingam, “Ramayana Kalpavrikshamu” by Viswanatha Satyanarayana and “Maha Prasthanam” by Sri Sri.

Further, the tweet described Telugu as a Dravidian Language of India and amongst six classical languages of India with three major dialects — Telangana, Andhra and Rayalaseema. However, Ms. Kavitha while appreciating the twitter account for highlighting Indian languages reminded that the ‘Uttarandhra’ dialect was also a prominent dialect of Telugu.
