Hyderabad Will Be Top Global IT Hub, Says Etela

Hyderabad will become a top-ranking global IT hub in the next three to four years, finance minister Etela Rajender has said.

“With ` 67,000-crore worth of IT exports, Hyderabad is one of the top IT centres in the country. With the Telangana government’s commitment to the growth of the industry and ensuring ease of doing business, Hyderabad will become top destination for IT industry globally in the next three to four years,” said Rajender at a conference on ‘Ease of Doing Business in Telangana’ held by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) here on Friday.

“Telangana government has introduced several landmark initiatives to ensure ease of doing business. These include Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self Certification System (TS-iPASS) and 20-hour power supply. More than 1,680 new industries were proposed to be set up in the state in the past 20 months and 850 have started operations,” he said.

K.Manicka Raj, commissioner of industries, said Telangana attracted more than ` 20,000- crore investments in the past 20 months, which proved that it was one of the most investor-friendly states in the country.

Arun Kumar J, chairman of Assocham’s national council on ease of doing business; Srikanth Badiga, co-chairman of Assocham’s Telangana Development Council, and others were present.
