Congress – TDP to sign up for Adharma Yuddham

Telugu Desam Party was formed by NT Rama Rao in the year 1982. The party emerged as an alternative to the Congress hegemony, by emphasizing on the Telugu regional pride. But today, the party seems to lose its very purpose, by joining hands with Congress.

The Adharma Yuddham which they call it as ‘Dharma Yuddham’ (holy war), is against Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

The state Congress leaders have already come in open and state that the alliance talks are on with all parties, including Telugu Desam Party.

TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu compared Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi with Godse and Former PM Manmohan Singh a mere rubber stamp in the hands of Sonia Gandhi. And yet again Naidu proved that there are no permanent friends or enemies in politics.

While the senior leaders from Telangana Rashtra Samithi at various press conferences said that both Congress and TDP fear defeat if contested alone.

The talks have advanced to a level where Telugu Desam sought 25 MLA seats and 5 MP seats from Congress Party to have a pre-poll alliance in Telangana. In return, Rs 250 crore has been offered as election expenditure for Congress Candidates, reported a few media houses.

The Congress-TDP alliance is not new to Telangana politics. Earlier, the same alliance was suggested by Srikrishna Committee, a few years ago. Chapter 8 of Justice Srikrishna Committee was classified as a secret document and disclosure of the contents would be harmful to the integrity of the nation, said the Central government back in 2013.

The below lines are taken from the same chapter which talks about the relationship between Congress and TDP.

1. The action also needs to be initiated for softening the TRS

2. The Telangana Congress MPs / MLAs need to be taken into confidence and asked not to lend any form of support to the agitation

3. The TDP must be advised not to participate in any further meetings that would be called by the Centre.

People of Telangana have learned good lessons from past experiences. It will be very difficult for the duo to convince people and win assembly seats in the upcoming elections, experts predict.
