Almost 85% of the missing persons traced: Swati Lakra IPS, IGP Women Safety

Responding to the widespread rumors on the increase in the numbers of missing persons in Hyderabad, Swati Lakra, IPS, IGP Women Safety & ADG CID, said, “On an average, about 85% of the missing persons have been traced over a period of time during the year 2018.”

In an official press release, she stated that the Police department promptly registers all the missing cases and ensures quick investigation. “The missing cases are treated on par with other criminal cases in terms of priority,” she said.

The police department is putting in all the possible efforts to trace the missing persons.

In order to trace the missing persons, Telangana state police department is using Facial Recognition System (FRS) which helps them identify the missing persons.

Telangana Police department conducts special drives for tracking of missing children regularly under the banner of ‘Operation Smile’ and ‘Operation Muskan’ in coordination with all stakeholder departments.

In another press release, VC Sajjanar IPS, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad said, “All the missing cases registered are because of individual problems such as love affairs, family disputes, financial reasons, lack of care of the aged parents by the children.” Providing strong assurance to the citizens, he said, “We are making all efforts and are committed to the safety of women and children.”
