3 pc Quota for Disabled in 2BHK Houses in Nizamabad, Says Kavitha

Nizamabad MP and TRS leader K.Kavitha said here on Saturday that she would ensure 3 per cent reservation to physically-challenged people in the allotment of government’s two bedroom houses to be constructed in Nizamabad.

She gave the assurance while addressing a group of physically-challenged persons from various parts of the state who joined the TRS and announced their intent to campaign for the party in the GHMC elections.

“We will try to provide reservation to the physically-challenged in the allotment of houses across the state,” she said, adding that they would urge Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) officials to provide 3 per cent reservation to the physically-challenged in job recruitment.

She responded positively to the demand made by the gathering for creation of a separate wing in the TRS for physically-challenged people. “I will take up the matter with my father and party chief K Chandrashekar Rao and see that a separate wing is constituted in the party,” she assured them.

Sharpening her attack on the BJP with the GHMC elections drawing closer, she said, “Local BJP leaders, including its Telangana state unit chief G Kishan Reddy, are not aware of the schemes announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” .

Referring to a scheme initiated by Narendra Modi, Kavitha alleged that the state BJP chief was not even aware of it. “When some disabled people went to Kishan Reddy to seek benefits under the Central government scheme, Kishan Reddy feigned ignorance of such a scheme.”

On the other hand, Kavitha said, the state government’s schemes were much more popular and successful.

“Every leader, from the galli level to the deputy Chief Minister’s position, knows the schemes implemented by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao,” she claimed.
