24% increase in hiring in Hyderabad: Naukri

The Naukri Job Speak Index for Feb 2015 stated that there is a 24% increase in hiring in Hyderabad city.

Hiring activity in India grew by 10 percent in February led by sectors such as IT, BFSI and textile and the job market is likely to gain further momentum in the coming months, says a report.

The Naukri Job Speak Index for February 2015 stood at 1,639, recording 10 percent increase in the hiring activity over the same month last year. “After being flat in January 2015, it looks like the job market is getting on track.

With economy showing signs of positive growth and with the appraisal season round the corner, we can expect the job market to gain further momentum in the coming months,” Naukri.com Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer V Suresh said.

A sectoral analysis shows that banking, finance and insurance services (BFSI) and IT recorded maximum year-on-year (YoY) increase at 77 percent and 76 percent respectively in February 2015.

On the other-hand, auto, agriculture and as well as the construction and engineering sector saw a YoY decline of 20 percent, 9 percent, 8 percent and 4 percent respectively in February this year.

Geographically, Pune and Hyderabad were leading the tally and registered a growth of 36 percent and 24 percent respectively in period under review.

Demand for professionals in four sectors — packaging, IT, web designing and consulting — grew fairly strong and moderate growth was seen in the HR, BFSI, and Marketing during February 2015 on YoY basis.

On the other hand, the demand for top management, hotels and restaurants and supply chain professionals registered a decline of 21 percent, 19 percent and 10 percent respectively for the same period, the report said.
